Salmon Cakes

This is a nice doggie treat to bake, sent to us from Diane Faber. Remember, small "treat" like pieces!

1 - 15oz. can salmon w/juice
1 beaten egg
1 T. vegetable oil
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/2 cup non-fat dry milk
1 cup flour

Mix ingredients and put into greased round cake pan. Bake at 350 for 20-30 min.  Cool. Frost with nonfat plain yogurt, cream cheese or cream cheese frosting.  Store in refrigerator.

Stuffed Toys

This is valuable information that should probably be passed along to anyone you know with dogs, cats, or other animals that might chew up a stuffed toy: The stuffing in some children's toys contains ingredients for flame retardants and mite control which is highly toxic if eaten. Therefore, it is better to make sure your dog toys are specifically made for dogs.

Sago Palms

Home improvement stores sell a plant called the "Sago Palm". This is a decorative houseplant that you may be tempted to purchase. If your pets ingest ANY part of this plant it will cause liver failure. Even with aggressive veterinary treatment 70% of these pets will die. Please keep your household free of this plant!!
